The Los Angeles Grammy Museum has announced that it will be debuting it's first hip-hop exhibit next week, to coincide with the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards.

The interactive exhibit, titled "Hip-Hop: A Cultural Odyssey," will open on Saturday, Feb. 5, and will be on display through May 4. The exhibit, which shares the same title as the the large-format photography book it is based on, will take visitors through the history of hip-hop, from its birthplace in New York to its influence on the rest of the world.

The exhibit features interactive listening and mixing stations, rare footage and photographs and various hip-hop memorabilia, including handwritten lyrics penned by Tupac Shakur, a Run-D.M.C. leather jacket and pants set, worn during their "Walk This Way" performance with Aerosmith, Grandmaster Flash's turntables, one of LL Cool J's signature Kangols and troop jacket, and a "hip-hop sneaker gallery."

The exhibit opens Saturday, March 4, at the Grammy Museum, located just a block from the Los Angeles Staples Center, where the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13. For more information, visit GrammyMuseum.org.

What a waste of time, money and energy. Just another example of validating the decay of our culture.

(C)(D)(G)"ROUND"
Love(Cmaj7) it's the music that is on my mind(Em),
The music(Dm7) so beautiful and music so fine (G).
The circles(A) get bigger, the grooves(C) more reflective,
the rainbow(A) machines(C) more selective(Cm).

The thing(G) that keeps me alive, the dreams(Em),
the moments, you feel deep inside (D).

If I could(Gmaj7) tune the moon, find you there(Dmaj7),
see your eyes(Gbsus4), touch my heart, melt(Gmaj7) my cares.

You make the music(Dmaj7), you make love(Gm7), you turn the circles(Dmaj7) , the grooves(Gm7) get brighter, you steal my heart(D).

I want "The Grammy Museum" to open a special section dedicated to the history of Elevator Music...this would bring untold millions of dolllars in much needed revenue, in addition to adding a sorely missed part of musical history to the world's attention...la...la...,,hmmm...I am humming my favorite elevator tune now....can you guess what it is?
