Under the agreement, Tru, real name Robert Rosado, will carry out a 10-year sentence as punishment. His brother, Marcus Rosado, who served as his accomplice, will serve 12 years for the crime. Tru was originally to be tried for first-degree murder, and the sentence actually factors in their cooperation in admitting to the crime. Both men, under the deal, will not be allowed to appeal.
Back in 2009, Tru and his brother got into a brawl with two other men at the New York City nightclub Pacha, that later spilled into the early hours outside a Murray Hill apartment. In the end, Christopher Guerrero was stabbed to death, while the other man was hospitalized.
Tru, previously signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella, released two studio albums -- 'Cryin' Out Loud' and 'Ghetto Inmates' -- thus far. He is mostly known for his beefs with Dipset to Mobb Deep.
