Late Tuesday night (Feb. 22), West tweeted a picture of himself in the studio with Bieber, tagged with the caption "My new beat protege." The photo has already racked up more than 230,000 views and more than 1,000 comments. The two last crossed musical paths when West remixed Justin Bieber's single 'Runaway Love,' last August, complete with a verse from Raekwon. The song was re-released for retail last week.
The collaboration came about after a tweeting frenzy between the two. It all started when West sent his praises to Bieber, writing "Yo this Runaway Love is the truth!!! on my 17th listen 2day!!!" Then, the rest was history. When Bieber lost the award for Best New Artist last week, a supportive Kanye tweeted, "Damn... I can't find the words to explain how I feel about the best new artist award... Don't wanna say the wrong thing." he then followed up with "#PROUDOFJUSTIN."
