The album was originally rumored to arrive in stores last September, in tandem with high profile releases from fellow G.O.O.D Music rappers Kanye West and Kid Cudi, but that triple threat never materialized. The 23-year-old Michigan native has also announced plans to drop his fourth mixtape before the official album release. To date, Big Sean has released three previous mixtapes 'Finally Famous Vol.1: The Mixtape' in 2007, 'Finally Famous Vol. 2: U Know Big Sean' in 2009 and 'Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG' in 2010. Tracks off those street tapes have also had accompanying music videos, namely 'Watch U Doin?' off 'BIG''s and 'Getcha Some' off 'U Know Big Sean.'
'Finally Famous' will include features from Kanye West, Mike Posner and Pharrell Williams. "Pharrell is one of the nicest people I've ever met, period," Sean told The BoomBox. "He'll treat a janitor and a billionaire executive with the same respect." He also said that West keeps him in check. "He's up there with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, etc, so whatever you would say to get his attention would probably have to be one of the most amazing raps ever."
The video for the 'Finally Famous' lead single 'My Last' is set to premiere within the upcoming weeks. The most recent rumor from the G.O.O.D. Music camp is the possibility of a collective tour that would feature artists like West, Common, Big Sean, Pusha T and Kid Cudi.
