The 'Superstar' rapper will be performing cuts off 'Lasers' at the Lupe Fiasco Foundation Launch Charitable Event at Chicago's House of Blues on March 10. In addition to the Lupe's performance, the event will also feature a silent auction and giveaways provided by local businesses, while Chicago radio djs DJ Timbuktu and DJ Izzo will also be on hand to spin at the event. To get in, a donation of $40 is required, which goes towards the Lupe Fiasco Foundation and House of Blues Foundation.
"This is a contribution to positive youth development, resiliency and hope for Chicago youth," Lupe said in a statement. "We are honored to give back to communities where greatness dwells. We subscribe to the African proverb 'it takes a village to raise a child.' We are obligated to nurture the genius of youth who live in the same communities from whence I came. We strive to be a relevant provider of quality programs that inspire youth to reach their highest potential as world influencers, artists and scholars."
Lupe also recently performed at a fundraiser to support fellow Chicago rapper Rhymefest's bid for alderman.
