The partnership with Interscope is unsurprising as Grey's biggest collaborations thus far have come with two of the label's flagship artists: Dr. Dre and Eminem. Her work on the increasingly-popular 'Detox' single 'I Need a Doctor' has really opened up her fanbase since a performance at the Grammy Awards last month. Producer Alex Da Kid, who helmed 'I Need a Doctor,' as well as Eminem's 'Love The Way You Lie,' will act as the executive producer on the project. Grey will also be signed to his personal Wonderland Music imprint.
Last night, she appeared on 'American Idol' to perform a Diddy-Dirty Money collaboration called 'Coming Home.' "Getting to perform on television with Eminem and Dr. Dre still doesn't feel real to me and now to perform with Diddy-Dirty Money in the course of a month is unreal," said Grey before the show. "I'm really excited about the opportunity to perform on 'Idol.' It's incredible to have all of this leading into my album coming this year. I am so fortunate."
She is also tearing up the charts on Lupe Fiasco's 'Words I Never Said.' The upcoming solo album will be the first time that Grey flexes her muscles on tracks without the aid of some of hip-hop's biggest recording artists. There is currently no title or release date for the record.
