The 18-year-old's latest single, 'Love Affair' featuring Weezy, finds Twist drawing on his R&B influences, opting to sing instead of rap on the track. Twist has also wrapped shooting on the single's video, directed by Dayo. The rapper headed to Miami for the shoot, which will feature appearances from his other Cash Money/Young Money family members Mack Maine, and Brian "Birdman" Williams.
Despite receiving a healthy amount of buzz of the past year, the Dallas native has been putting in work since he was discovered by Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant, at just 12 years old. Since then he has already dropped three mixtapes, and is working on a fourth, which will be a joint effort with Justin Bieber.
"We're working on it now," Twist told The BoomBox last month. "We have a lot coming and it's all fun. Justin and I are not all that serious. We are not just trying to come up with a no. 1 hit. We are doing it in a fun way. That's how our music is ... we just vibe out. Justin is really talented." Up next Twist will hit the road with the rest of the YMCM crew for the I Am Still Music Tour, kicking off tonight in Providence, R.I. 'Love Affair' will be available on iTunes starting March 22, while 'Don't Get It Twisted,' is slated for a summer release.
