Juelz was scheduled to perform with Chris Brown at Webster Hall, to celebrate the release of the latter's 'F.A.M.E.' album, but the rapper was apprehended by NYPD at the venue's door. His car was searched for drugs and weapons, and although no arrests were made, he did not enter in the building in time to perform.
Juelz tweeted about the incident as it occurred, writing, "A! Jus go Pulled over smhhh was on the way to Webster Hall . . . never fails [sic]." According to the New York Post, the stop and search was linked to suspected gang affiliation. His rep Joe Wunstop explained the situation saying, "Nobody got arrested. They were just giving him a hard time. By the time they finished searching, Juelz was upset -- so it wouldn't have made for a good show."
"He's not part of the Bloods gang," Wunstop continued, in response to the gang affiliation rumors. "I guess because a couple of guys that come around might be affiliated -- friends bring friends -- and he's a really friendly dude."
In February, Juelz was arrested in connection with a 10-month investigation, which culminated in a raid on his New Jersey studio. He was charged with four counts of narcotics and weapons possessions and was later released on $125,000 bail.
Since then, he has not managed to stay out of trouble. A source also revealed to the New York Post that detectives were keeping an eye on Santana during a Monday (March 21) night show at Manhattan's B.B. King's concert venue. His rep's responded with, "The guys just follow around and sniff around for something to happen."
Juelz Santana is currently in the midst of a Dipset reunion tour with Cam'ron and Jim Jones, which kicked off at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom in December 2010.
