The red-coiffed 'S&M' singer recently performed her song 'California King Bed' with Jennifer Nettles, of country band Sugerland, at the American Country Music Awards, a rare feat for an R&B star. Now, she's returning to the stage with 'Idol' to rock out on an as-yet-unspecified song. Also performing on the show -- airing Thursday, April 14 -- will be former 'Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson and country star Jason Aldean, singing their hit 'Don't You Wanna Stay.'
Past performers this year have included Diddy-Dirty Money, the Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson. Rihanna last appeared on the popular singing competition show a year ago, performing her single 'Rockstar 101.' She has followed up that performance with appearances on the U.K. hit talent search 'The X Factor,' as well as halftime at the NBA All-Star Game earlier this year.
Despite rumors of poor ticket sales, Rihanna is also preparing to kick off her Loud tour on June 4 in Baltimore with Cee Lo Green and J. Cole.
