The Young Money rapper will voice a character named Ethan in the fourth installment of the lucrative series. Previous 'Ice Age' voice contributors are set to return to the franchise, with Queen Latifah, Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Sean William Scott, Josh Peck and Dennis Leary reprising their respective roles. The film is currently without a concrete release date, but a Christmas TV special titled 'Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas' is set to air on Fox in November.
The 24-year-old, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, previously flexed his acting chops on the small screen in 'Degrassi: The Next Generation,' where he played a physically disabled student named Jimmy Brooks. He was previously scheduled to star in the film 'Arbitrage' alongside Susan Sarandon and Eva Green, but jumped ship to instead focus on recording his sophomore album 'Take Care.'
'Ice Age 4' comes in a line of highly successful films. The latest installment, 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,' became the third highest grossing animated film of all time after releasing in 2009, nabbing $886.7 million worldwide.
