The famed Neptunes producer and N.E.R.D. frontman, who joined Return Textiles as a product ambassador and investor in 2008, claims that he's focused on making a solid product, regardless of how it's produced. Speaking with the Associated Press, he revealed that he "hates to put so much emphasis on the recycling part of it," and that its eco-friendliness is just an "added value."
Back when he came aboard the company, he was singing a different tune. "I'm so interested in the technology behind this," he said at the time. "I'm also very concerned about the environment and want to make a conscious effort to make it better."
Regardless, Return Textiles has become one of the foremost sustainable manufacturers in the industry since it launched its star product in 2006. The company produces an eco-textile called bionic yarn, a natural textile made of petroleum and natural fibers made from recycled plastic bottles.
