The G-funk pioneer, who appeared in a series of national Affirm XL commercials as a spokesman for the all-natural enhancement supplement, is now claiming that he doesn't actually need the product himself, though he believes in its ability to promote "long lasting vitality stamina."
"I am the original Regulator; I don't need nothing, but I believe in Affirm XL," Warren G told AllHipHop.com.
The five commercials depict the rapper in a variety of settings, advising men to take their penile enhancement pills before engaging in sexual activity, or suffer the consequences. "I tried to tell you to take your Affirm XL but you didn't want to listen," a reclining G-Child tells one unlucky Romeo, whom he has beaten to the punch. "As you can see, I take my Affirm XL and now I go to regulate."
Affirm XL president Rob Hickman said that his company chose Warren G as a spokesman for the company because he "radiates excellence." "We wanted Warren as our spokesman because Warren G is a constant, has cross-generational appeal, and radiates excellence -- just like the product we are presenting," Hickman explained.
In music news, Warren G has announced that he will be releasing a tribute EP honoring his late partner Nate Dogg. The EP is intended for a summer release, with appearances by Nate Dogg's friends and fans -- E-40, DJ Quik, Game and B.o.B.
