Beyonce has been waving the American flag high lately. She did so, literally, in her kid-inspired exercise video for First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Campaign, and now with her own version of country singer Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the U.S.A.'

Beyonce's patriotic cover premiered on CNN's 'Piers Morgan Tonight' last night (May 5). The song is available on iTunes with proceeds going towards the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund, established to aid families who lost their loved ones following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America.

"We were all affected by the tragedies of 9/11 and continue to keep the families who lost loved ones close to our hearts," Beyonce said in a statement about the track.

The release of Beyonce's 'God Bless the U.S.A.' comes after President Obama's visit to ground zero yesterday, on the heels of announcing the death of Osama bin Laden -- the evil mastermind behind the attacks on the World Trade Center towers and Pentagon in 2001 -- on Sunday (May 2).

If ignorance is bliss, then I am sure that a few of these people are the happiest people alive. I am also proud to be an American, an Afro-American. God Bless Beyonce and God Bless The USA.

She totally made a very patriotic song dirty!! does she always have to whore up everything she does? stick to what you know best becoming white and giving men erections, you might have meant well but you cant sing something you cant feel, patriotic songs are meant to be felt by your heart and soul not your body.

Good, But I like Lee Greenwoods version better. Black singers always try to Gospel it up.

This song is NOT a "patriotic" song; it's a jingoist song. There is a difference. Patriotism demands that a person accept what's wrong with his/her country and try to work to correct those woes. Jingoism simply goes "my country--love it or leave it." The lyrics don't describe a love of the COUNTRY; there's just a bunch of BS about "pride."

If this is a "patriotic" song, then it falls under the "the last refuge of a scoundrel" definition of patriotism.

start right at the top: remember the President's instant, knee-jerk reaction to the Gates-Crowley affair when he first heard of it? That was obviously racist! And who could ever forget Michelle Obama's "For the first time in my life...." speeches? Again, racism rears its ugly head! - Then you have people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, the Obamas' pastor for twenty years, Reverend(?) Jeremiah Wright, and i am in Air Force and seek ing someone .I need a woman who can love me back
...I also got a username mason66 on _____ kissingmilitary.C óM--_____

@@@@@@@@the NAACP (whose leadership made uncalled-for, false, ignorant, racist remarks against the Tea Party, then tried to cover it up by joining Obama in shoving Shirley Sherrod under the bus). Sure, there are a lot of white racists, as well as racists
