"I can confirm that Whitney Houston is currently in an outpatient rehab program for drug and alcohol treatment," Kristen Foster, Houston's rep, told CNN. "Whitney voluntarily entered the program to support her long-standing recovery process."
According to TMZ.com, Houston checked into a California clinic about 10 days ago, to seek treatment for her addictions. Other than her entry into the facility, no other details regarding the treatment or what led to the singer's decision to seek help were released.
The 'I Will Always Love You' performer was forced to postpone shows on the European leg of her Nothing But Love tour due to her long-standing battle with addiction.
Houston, 47, has publicly battled drugs and alcohol in the past, entering rehab both in 2004 and 2005. Recently, Houston's 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina has been caught up in an alleged cocaine scandal of her own.
