Nicki Minaj Says She's 'Always Loved' Britney Spears

With just over one year of notoriety under her belt, there's no denying that Nicki Minaj's rising stardom is unstoppable. The Young Money femcee recently wrapped up her performance run with boss Lil Wayne on the I Am Still Music tour, but her next job opening for Britney Spears is among her career highlights.

Minaj revealed that she is more than excited about her stint on Spears' Femme Fatale tour. Although she is known for her wacky, albeit original outfit choices, the rap star says that her wardrobe is the last thing on her mind. "I have no idea what I'm wearing," she tells the BoomBox just before hitting the stage at the launch party for the Samsung Infuse phone in Hollywood Thursday (May 13). "To be honest I've been rushing all around the world. I don't know I'll just pick something up, and probably it won't match, but it'll work."

Ironically, the Queens native may have foreseen her future with Britney by coming to the pop star's defense at a time when the press she received wasn't favorable. "It's so funny because I had spoken about her in an interview awhile back; I was just like 'I should just leave her alone' and now she's back and it's Britney b----!" Minaj states.

While on tour, Minaj hopes to soak up knowledge on just how the Louisiana native has maintained her longevity after over more than a decade in the music industry, but fell short of revealing anything that she could teach Britney. "I wanna see what she's done to really stand the test of time this long," she explains. "How she's interacting with the people and the dancers, the lighting and the props, I just want to get into the whole thing. I've always loved her."

Britney and Minaj have gotten pretty close since announcing that they would embark on a national tour, even partying together while spending time in Los Angeles. The Femme Fatale tour kicks off June 17 in Sacramento, Calif.
