While 50, born Curtis Jackson, is no stranger to the silver screen, 'Odd Thomas' marks his first foray into the world of the supernatural, playing the role of Shamus Cocobolo, a blind DJ who helps clairvoyant cook Anton Yelchin uncover a satanic plot, as he uses his newfound powers to track a young girl's killer.
The film also stars Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt and Addison Timlin, and will be helmed by 'G.I. Joe' director Stephen Sommers, who adapted the screenplay from the Koontz book, which inspired the sequels, 'Forever Odd' and 'Brother Odd.'
In addition to his many business ventures, 50 Cent recently wrapped the heist film 'Setup' with Bruce Willis, and is currently filming 'Freelancers' with Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker, both of which are being produced by the Queens rapper's film company, Cheetah Vision.
'Odd Thomas' is scheduled to begin production in Santa Fe, N.M. shortly.
