During a performance at Detroit's Chene Park Amphitheater over the weekend, the 36-year-old let the cat out of the bag, telling the crowd that she was carrying her sixth child. "I'm going to be taking time off to give birth," she confirmed to the audience.
Since returning back to the music scene, Hill has made headlines for her erratic behavior in the past, and most recently her tardiness during performances. While in Detroit, she maintained her reputation for leaving the crowd waiting, showing up over an hour late to the show.
Hill, who shares five children with her longtime mate, Rohan Marley, joked about being fertile during other stops on her national Moving Target tour, calling herself "the most fertile woman in America."
She has long been open about her love for motherhood, taking time out of the spotlight to focus on raising her brood, even writing a song about her first son 'Zion,' which appeared on her 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' album. Her youngest child, Sarah, 3, went without a name for a reported seven months after her birth.
