Outside the temperature was well over 90 degrees and inside the stadium the heat was felt with every pelvic thrust and clothing change Rihanna made. Throughout the evening, she went from donning a metallic blue jacket to appearing in a Fruit Loop-colored bra ensemble. Then there was a flowing banana yellow dress with a super high slit and a pair of denim Daisy Dukes. If the women were there for the music, the men were surely there for the eye candy.
The Bajan chanteuse breezed through a slew of her hits, and had a stage full of props and brightly dressed dancers to support her efforts. As her vocals hit the air for 'Shut Up and Drive,' a graffiti-covered car appeared, one that Rihanna gingerly stepped inside. Then there was a cane she used to hit her dancer's rear, stripper poles and a spinning platform she straddled a fan upon, all while she performed the scintillating track 'Skin.'
As she stepped backstage for outfit changes, erotic videos and images popped up on monitors decorating the stage. The 23-year-old is no youngster anymore; it's all smeared lipstick -- just one of the visuals on screen -- cleavage, legs that hypnotize and a mean walk in stilettos from here on out.
'Rude Boy,' 'Man Down,' 'Unfaithful' and 'Cheers (Drink to That)' -- where she threw back a shot -- were just a few of the songs she showcased for her fans. But one of the more memorable tracks she appears on left the audience booming with applause when Jay-Z emerged from the shadows of a bottom platform for 'Run This Town.' Rocking the ever-popular snapback, the Roc Nation creator stood with his head bent as screams and shouts increased until he took the mic and yelled, "What's up!" before rapping his verse on the aforementioned track. He then opened up the bombshell's 'Good Girl Gone Bad' hit 'Umbrella' and exited to stage left.
As sexified and flirtatious as she was on stage, Rihanna turned it down a few notches when engaging the crowd with some heartfelt sentiments before the show's close. "Ever since I was young, I've been dreaming of making music that the whole world could hear," she admitted. "Thank you for making my dreams come true."
