Lauryn Hill Opens Up About Rohan Marley Rumors

Ernie Paniccioli / Retna

The saga continues in the relationship between Lauryn Hill, 36, and Rohan Marley, 39, who last month seemed to write off any involvement in fathering Hill's sixth child. Now the Fugees frontwoman is speaking out on her affairs with the father of her five other children, as well as her newborn.

In an open letter to fans she released via Twitter, Hill addressed the media speculation surrounding the pair's relations, her very publicized pregnancy and recent birth, which occurred on Saturday, July 23.

"Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which many inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning. To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form the wrong conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my son," she revealed in the letter.

On Monday (July 25), Rohan Marley took to Twitter and tweeted sentiments that may have caused the 'Everything Is Everything' performer to craft a follow-up to what media, critics and fans may have thought suggested the two were not on good terms. "I'm forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son. I'm sure she'll appreciate the love being sent to her RASTAFARI R.M." he wrote.

While Hill's public note may keep the heat off her for now, there's still talk of Marley's new arm candy, 28-year-old Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana, who he reportedly left the songstress for to canoodle with.

Why does ANYBODY need SIX kids? They don't. Don't they stop and think about OVERPOPULATION and how it affects the global climate? Soon we will have
eliminated all the animals and living space, be fighting over food and water, just because of these selfish attitudes. Imagine if everybody reproduced like this....had as many kids as their body was capapble of producing.!!!
It's really sad.

It's you, at no point has Marley ever claimed to never have fathered any children with Hill.

Uh, get a clue MC Dufus, nowhere is it implied in this story that Hill doesn't know who the father of ANY of her six kids is as that's your own dense interpretation.

Certainly doesn't excuse the often rude, diva-like behavior, but I'd point out to you that many, many performers over the years, men and women unlike, can accurately place such doings on their own resumes and generally being an ass was not invented by Lauryn Hill.

To the two negative votes on my post. Too bad! She has said she'd rather sell one of her kids then write music for white people. Now my detactors! That is racist! She admits she doesn't like whites. So why should I buy her garbage music?

I didn't rate your comment one way or the other, but what you've stated doesn't make a great deal of sense. If you generally liked her music before finding out she's supposedly a racist at heart, then that knowledge doesn't magically transform her music into garbage as the music is still the music. If you never cared much for her music previously, then you would not have been actively indulging in it anyway. Whether folks realize it or not, whites support the activities and well being of racist people of color all the time and people of color support the activities and well being of racist whites all the time as that's just a result of the multicultural world we live in .
