T.I. Hauled Back to Federal Prison for Tour Bus Transport

AP

Just one day after his release from an Arkansas federal prison, T.I. is back in federal custody. The 'Live Your Life' creator apparently used a questionable mode of transportation on Thursday (Sept. 1) to move from the prison to a halfway house located in Atlanta, Ga.

According to T.I.'s lawyer, Steve Sadow, prison officials opposed the use of a tour bus T.I. rode in to be transported from the Forrest City Federal Prison in Arkansas to the Atlanta halfway house. "[The Federal Bureau of Prisons] has moved T.I. to a different facility," Sadow stated. "There appears to be confusion surrounding the method of transportation."

The 30-year-old, who last released his seventh studio album, 'No Mercy,' in 2010, apparently arranged his own travel, which turned out to be a luxury tour bus, without informing prison officials of the ride he'd be using. As a result, on Thursday evening, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons' website noted T.I. being held at an Atlanta penitentiary. He currently has a release date of Sept. 29.

TMZ spoke with law enforcement officials who disclosed that an incarcerated prisoner in a low or medium security prison is allowed to use a private, unescorted mode of transportation, however, the prisoner must specifically state what kind of vehicle will be used.

T.I. reportedly never informed prison officials he would be taking a tour bus, but rather a van.

They should have never let him on the bus if they knew they were going to arrest him the same day. I saw him on Chelsea Handler show, it must have been that afternoon. Give a guy a break!

Could be about money but who know's I believe it cost more to house one away from general population... If it were me I'd just do my time and when finished leave the state and my next hit would for sure make them look like the ignorant loser pigs they really are. I'd devote my life to giving/showing them just what they deserve

Does it strike anyone else odd like it does me that for one, they allowed him to get on his bus and make the trip and then waited until he got there to put him back in prison??? Go figure... Something isn't right here....

T.I. is as dumb as a peeled grape. Stuff him back into a cell and throw away the key.

Let me get this straight:
There are drug dealers selling drugs to children, women who murder their daughter and lie about it, bank executives who, in effect, rape and pillage the average american's hopes, dreams and pocketbooks; all free and on the loose - but - we are wasting tax payer money and correctional officer time on something like this?

A tour bus is basically an oversized van anyway and he made it to the halfway house!

THIS IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF INJUSTICE & HARASSMENT!!!

Why should it matter that TI took a Tour Bus, a Helicopter, or a Thoroughbred Race Horse to go home. The last time I checked it wasn't against the law to ride any of these.

They know that TI is a Celebrity and that many celebrities ride around in Tour Buses.

Would they have arrested Taylor Swift for riding around in a Tour Bus?

"HELL NO" - because she's White!!!

BTW - so am I.

Signed a 52yr old father of three outside of Chicago.

I agree with most that you said except I honestly do not believe this is a racial deal, I think it is a status deal more than anything...
