Keys lends her powerful pipes to the hook, and Swizz contributes some hip-hop ad-libs while Mateo laments of a lost love over the synthy Swizz-produced track.
"Now I walk through endless nights/ Let the street lights pass the time/ And even though your call don't come (no)/ I still pray you're by the phone," the heartbroken former financial consultant softly croons.
The collaboration apparently came about because Mateo is signed to Krucial Noise, the label owned by producer-songwriter Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, a longtime Keys collaborator and rumored ex-boyfriend.
'Say It's So' will appear on Mateo's forthcoming EP 'Love & Stadiums II.' His mixtape featured appearances by rappers Pusha T, Kardinal Offishall, Ab-Liva and fellow smoky-voiced singer Goapele.
