The 31-year-old former New Orleans MC, born Christopher Dorsey, was pulled over for a traffic violation in 2009, when police discovered three handguns, several loaded magazines, extended clips and drugs inside his Chevy Tahoe. According to a report by Nola.com, the former Lil Wayne associate, who was a felon at the time of his arrest, then conspired to convince fellow passenger, Demounde Pollard, then 17, to sign an affidavit claiming the guns were his. The arrest was Dorsey's fourth of the year.
The 'Bling Bling' rapper sang a different tune in court yesterday, however. Facing a prison bid of up to 40 years, he admitted his guilt, copping to possession of the firearms and witness tampering. Prosecutors made clear that there is no plea agreement in place; it appears that Dorsey has refused to cooperate with the prosecution, who have tied him to several notorious New Orleans crime figures.
"I never snitch, never tell, if the laws come and get me, I'm gonna sit my ass in jail," B.G. raps on his new track 'I Ain't Tellin'.' "I don't talk on the phone, 'less I'm talkin' to bitches."
"I know what comes behind what I do," B.G. explained to MTV, back in 2009, regarding his case. "I know the consequences and repercussions of what comes behind it. Where I'm from, it's just like, that first draw is a muthaf---a, the bullets raining out the sky. It's like that for real. It's a murder capital. They dropping like flies. I stay in the suburbs. All my neighbors are white and football players and doctors and dentists."
"I lay my head there, but when I get up in the morning, I gotta go to the projects and get some grits and cheese and sausage and toast," he continued. "It's just something about that 'hood. I wanna post up and sit on the porch and get my hair braided. I'm just 'hood."
B.G.'s sentencing date is March 14, 2012. His most recent album, 'Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood' was released in 2009 on Atlantic Records.
