Slim Dunkin Dead: Brick Squad MC Shot on Way to Video Set

Brick Squad affiliate Slim Dunkin was shot dead several hours ago, while on his way to appear in the 'Push Ups' video for Gucci Mane and V-Nasty, a track he rapped on that appears on the duo's street LP, 'BAYTL.'

This afternoon (Dec. 16), en route to the location of the video set, trouble ensued. A source, who wishes to remain anonymous, gave The BoomBox some details about the tragic matter that took the rapper's life. "There was an altercation on the way to the shoot and Slim Dunkin was shot in the stomach," the source close to the situation reveals. "He succumbed to the injuries."

The news comes the afternoon before Gucci's scheduled homecoming celebration at an Atlanta nightspot. There has been speculation as to who's responsible for the murder, including whether or not the longstanding animosity between Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy's camps are to blame.

Just five months ago, 20-year-old Slim, born Mario Hamilton, and Waka Flocka Flame released their second joint mixtape, 'Twin Towers 2.' Dunkin was also featured on two tracks off Gucci and Waka's 'Ferrari Boyz' LP, and he also serves verses on 'F--- You,' on 'BAYTL.'

At the video shoot for 'Let's Get Faded' Thursday (Dec. 15), in Atlanta, Gucci gave information about upcoming singles and videos, which would feature the fallen rapper. "We're probably gonna do either three or four visuals for this album, including 'Push Ups,' that'll be the next video," he said. "It features Slim Dunkin. We're going to shoot that one tomorrow."

Industry insiders like French Montana and DJ Clue are already expressing their condolences for Slim Dunkin's family and friends on Twitter.

UPDATE: According to the New York Daily News, Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows says Slim Dunkin was shot in the chest as a result of an altercation in a recording studio.

"It appears the victim was scheduled to do a photo shoot," Meadows stated. "Before the video shoot took place, it appears the victim and suspect got involved in a verbal altercation. We don't know what that altercation was about."

The murderer is still at-large.

He was a child of GOD. He had family, and friends. He did NOT deserve to be murdered. What an evil punk that had to pull a gun out, over a verbal dispute, and shoot Slim dead. It could have been resolved in a "civil" way, NOT with this violence. It was a cold blooded murder....the punk needs to turn himself in, and do the time, for the crime. Maybe some of Slim's homies in prison will seek revenge for him. Just saying!

I think HP has an article each week about some low-life rapper that no one cares about being shot dead just to have everyone post something like "who is he?" or "good riddence". Yeah, he was ghetto filth, but he was still a human being. lol

I dont care what a person does, no one but God has the right to take a life. Rapping or ignorance isn't grounds to be murdered.

That one was tough to read without laughing. French Montana sounds like a bad adult filmstar name. DJ Clue sounds DJ Dumb. These guys are clearly trying to get their names in the press or they would have used their normal names.

Is death really a goal??? I mean everyone is guaranteed of one thing and that is death like it or not. It's not a question of if, like he could avoid it, it's a question of when. Cheesh! How cerebral...What an analogy. Now I know where some of these lyrics come from and why crap is just that......crap.
