Rihanna Skips People's Choice Awards for Basketball Game

As previously reported by AOL Music, Rihanna may have been nominated for two awards at last night's (Jan. 11) People's Choice Awards, but that didn't stop her from blowing off the ceremony to take in a little court-side basketball!

The singer spent the night at the Los Angeles' Staples Center watching the L.A. Clippers vs. Miami Heat game while throwing back some brews. Despite being in the running for both Favorite Pop Artists and Favorite R&B Artist, RiRi traded in her red carpet gown for a sideways cap and a sweatshirt!

The best -- or the worst -- part is that Ri was just across the street from the theater where the People's Choice Awards were taking place! Ouch, that burns!

Rihanna ended up winning for Favorite R&B artist, but rather than be there to thank her fans for voting for her at the awards show, the singer watch the Clippers defeat the Heat in overtime.
