It's worth considering that the awards weren't occurring in a small theatre, but rather a cavernous 20,000-seat basketball arena. Sure, he was on a microphone, on television, but he was standing in front of a huge concert-like crowd. The man did a fine job all around.

The persona he brought to the show was perfect for the occasion and his timing was fantastic given the overall circumstances under which the show was broadcast. For my part, I have never seen him in a live situation where he was rattled. Great Job and I hope you do this again.
