Mary J. Blige, Steve Stoute: Burger King Ad Causes Criticism, Commercial Removed

Apparently even the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige is not above reproach. The revered singer recently appeared in an ad for Burger King's newly revamped menu, dedicating an ode to the Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap. Unfortunately, Blige's ditty did not sit well with her fans, whose Twitter outcry included criticism from longtime collaborator-hip-hop branding mastermind Steve Stoute.

After Stoute cleared the air about his agency having nothing to do with the ad, he also shared his thoughts on how the final product.

The offending ad, which is rumored to have netted Blige a cool $2 million, has since vanished from Burger King's YouTube channel.

Meanwhile Shade 45's DJ Wonder threw together a pretty amazing blend of Blige's Chicken Snack Wrap jingle and Project Pat classic "Chicken Head," which can be heard here.
