Lil Wayne, Assault: Photographer Says He Was Hit With Skateboard After Trying for Picture

Randy Belice, National Basketball Association

Whether recent stories are true, it's probably best not to try to photograph Lil Wayne while he's skating. Last month, the rapper was accused of assaulting a snapper outside a Miami church, and on May 3, TMZ reports, Weezy allegedly struck again, as he or someone in his entourage hit a photographer with a skateboard. Police are said to be investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made.

The supposed victim, Alfredo Marino, tells TMZ that he approached Wayne and his crew and asked them for a photo. They said no, and when he went back to his car to snap one on the sly, he claims, the MC followed him and began making threats.

"Don't you know all it takes is a word and these motherf---ers are going to f--- you up?" Wayne said, according to Marino.

Next, Marino says, he was whacked from behind with a skateboard -- an attack that knocked him to the ground and bloodied his head.

"My client will enforce all of his rights under the law and all individuals responsible for this outrageous incident will be blamed for the damages that my client has suffered and continues to suffer," said Marino's lawyer, Craig Chisvin.

The rapper's reps have yet to respond.

Not a Lil Wayne fan by any means, but any celebrity who gives a papparazi the biz, I applaude! The police should take the report of any pappo who files a claim of assault against a celebrity who's rights s/he violated and just file it in the round file. Celebrities have their right to a life, too. Unless they are caught doing something wrong (a crime), they should be left alone. On the red carpet or other very public outings, have at it paps. Celebrities want you to photograph them then. But if they are out to dinner, going or coming from the grocery store, playing with their kid(s) in the park, attending church, skate-boarding, biking, any of a number of ordinary, everyday activities, respect their rights to just be human beings and LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! The people DO NOT have the right to know every detail of their lives!

Not a Wayne fan, but good job! For everyone who thinks he crossed the line, aside from PTA meetings, I doubt anyone cares enough to even acknowledge you enough to shake your hand..let alone take your photo. Funny how easy it is to judge a persons actions when you probably won't ever be in that persons shoes. Yeah, he choose to be some sort of rapper person thug skater icon, but with that said I'm sure he has enough money saved up to take care of his own legal issues. I've seen parents act a lot worse at little league baseball games.

Obviously he doesn't know the meaning of "NO". The alleged victim stated "He approched Wayne and his crew and asked them for a photo. And they said NO". He may have not received a photo that will last a life time but he sure as hell received a beat down that will. Face it, you tried to caputure one on the sly and got caught.

"Don't you know all it takes is a word and these motherf---ers are going to f--- you up?"
How Gangsta is that?
Have someone else fight your battles. Is that why he keeps a crowd of ex convicts around? I thought it was his connection to "The Streets", not from getting his 'Lil' A** beat.

Not to defend what he did, but it's ok with me. Just because someone is famous doesn't mean they are always seeking attention. They have a life and we should leave them alone and let them have their personal time. How would you like it if someone tracked your every move? Don't give me this bull that they asked for it because of their occupation - bullcrap! If you purchase their music, that is what you are paying for, not their undivided attention and certainly not the right to have any say in what they do or don't do. They are not idols for us to look up to - just someone doing their job. Leave them alone and this type of issue won't exist. Violence doesn't usually solve the problem, but pesky media types should get their butts kicked every now and then. It might teach them to only go where invited or to at least keep a respectable distance from their target. To all of you who want to make it a racial thing, you are so hypocritical and stupid. It's OK when Tom Cruise or someone you like fights back, but not agreeable with you otherwise. People like you cause the problems in this world. You all need to get a life and stop existing to harbor on resentment and hate. I don't like rap, don't care for this guy either, but you know, I'm sure he doesn't give a darn and he shouldn't. I'm not a fan, have never purchased his music and never will. I do however respect his or anyone else's right to privacy. As far as him being dumb, he's bright enough to have millions who are willing to part with their money to hear him trash talk. Look at it this way, he's no different than Rush Limbaugh, he just uses a slighty different medium to entertain his fans - still trash talk.
