While the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now had promised to fork over the full sum by December 2011, they missed the deadline, prompting a pair of written demands earlier this year.
As a rep for the R&B singer tells TMZ, there's a perfectly good explanation: The foundation is "presently transitioning its management and headquarters."
"We remain committed to our mandate of helping women gain the confidence and skills necessary to reach their full individual potential," the rep added.
