Drake Claims to be 'First Person to Successfully Rap and Sing'

It's certainly true that Drake burst onto the hip-hop scene with a fresh, sensitive sound that charmed the ears and hearts of critics and groupies alike. But the Jewish rap star made some pretty steep claims recently in an interview with the Jewish Chronicle.

"There were people who incorporated melody before me," Drake said. "But I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing."

Seriously Aubrey? What about Lauryn Hill, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Andre 300 and Heavy D just to name the tip of the iceberg in that combination of skills. Perhaps the MTV News rankings awarding Drake the No. 2 MC spot ahead of Kanye West, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne went to Drizzy's head.

Elsewhere in the interview he questioned his lothario ways and whether distancing himself from being in committed relationships at the moment is good for him.

"I'm 25 and single," Drake shared. "I'm not supposed to care about deeper things right now, I'm supposed to be wild. But there are nights when you sit back and wonder, 'Damn, is this right?'"
