Michael Jackson 'Bad' Remix Debuts Courtesy of Pitbull, Afrojack and DJ Buddha

Michael Jackson Afrojack Pitbull DJ BuddhaSony Legacy

A brand new remix of Michael Jackson's legendary song "Bad" has emerged courtesy of Dutch EDM DJ Afrojack, rapper Pitbull and DJ Buddha, and The BoomBox has an exclusive first listen. The effort is part of a special 25th anniversary edition of the King of Pop's seventh studio album. Titled Bad 25, the forthcoming LP debuts Sept. 18.

The new "Bad" remix features much more modern rhythms, a speedier beat and a heavier bass line in place of '80s-era synthesizers -- all the handiwork of Afrojack and DJ Buddha. Pitbull also raps brand new verses, calling his version of the song "a toast to the king for life." The track is truly a modern take on Jackson's classic song.

Included in the deluxe album set are three CDS, two collectible booklets and the first ever authorized DVD release from the Bad World Tour, which took place on July 16, 1988, when Jackson played to a sold-out crowd at the Wembley Stadium in London.

The first CD features re-mastered versions of the original "Bad" hits, the second offers a listen to 13 rare tracks -- six of which are previously unreleased demos -- and the third is the audio version of the Wembley Stadium concert.

The entire set is available for pre-order here.

where is the shame. again, no mention of michael's mentor, best friend, confidant, part time stand-in, and favorite dance partner . . . "bubbles" the chimpanzee. was "bubbles" consulted before this remix . . . i suspect the answer is a resounding "no!" and will "bubbles" share in any royalties derived from its sales . . . again a shameless "no!" we all know hollywood has no heart and "bubbles" is mute testimony to that. as crazy joe biden once said: let's stand up for "bubbles."

The pitbul/afrojack remix has to be the biggest piece of **** I've ever heard. It's a clear indication that neither Sony nor team MJ have a clue about electronic dance music scene. The No dj would play this rubbish.

Remix tracklist should read something like this:
Bad - Boys Noize Remix
Speed Demon - Nero Remix
Another Part of Me - Diplo Remix
Dirty Diana - Skrillex Remix
Smooth Criminal - A- Trak Remix
Leave Me Alone - Justice Remix

Just my 2 cents worth .. from a DJ's perspective ;)

I have no interest in anyone remixing anything Michael Jackson left behind. That last MJ release, "Michael" was a major disappointment. However, I have every intention of purchasing "Bad 25". With the power of iTunes, I can exclude unwanted music when I download CDs. The remixes of "Bad" and "Speed Demon" (I've never even heard of these DJs) will NOT make it into my iTunes! Stop messing with Michael's music! He's no longer here to approve these changes and he, himself would probably cringe at what has been done to his creations!

Michael Jackson routinely released singles during his lifetime with multiple remixes included. He made his acapellas available for that purpose. Those who love Michael's music so much should be aware of all the official remix releases. Now having said that, Pitbull is kind of an icky choice for the rapper but Afrojack is not a bad choice for the remixer.

As for the Beatles music, I just don't see much about it that would really appeal to modern remix artists.
