Rihanna Gives Tearful Admission to Oprah: 'I Lost My Best Friend' in Chris Brown

Award-winning songstress, scandal queen and party lover Rihanna is usually controlled and put together when she does interviews with the press. However, in her recent interview with Oprah Winfrey for "Oprah's Next Chapter," the pop star invites the talk show icon to her native Barbados to chat about her career and personal life, even getting a bit tearful when she talks about her past with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

"It was embarrassing, it was humiliating," Rihanna states, her eyes brimming with tears. "I lost my best friend."

The "Where Have You Been" songstress is clearly referring to the domestic violence assault she experienced at the hands of Brown while the two were dating.

During their sit-down, Rihanna even admits to Oprah, "You keep surprising me today!" as she both laughs and cries while answering pointed questions.

So I'm confused... No surprise though, while she's beautiful she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but she's saying her best friend punched her up? My best friend never hit me!

ajefferson89, do you know her personally? I agree with grneydmuse. Someone who decides to inflict pain on another person, weather a man hitting a woman or a woman hitting a man is a big fat loser! Please remember people, women abuse men too! It's just not as talked about.

Easy to comment when you're not in her shoes. It seems she loves and gives too passionately, she has an extreme personality which is probably the reason why she is the way she is. There is no medium to her as it seems that whatever she does, it is done to the extreme. In any case she has done her best to keep the public happy. Whether she sees Chris or not it's not something anyone can say for certain because there are no pictures of it nor any confirmations on their part. How many people don't turn around and bail their abusers out of jail and drop charges or violate their own restraining orders?? At least she has tried very hard not to disappoint anyone by not displaying herself with him publicly. I think for someone her age that says a lot, women twice her age with more wisdom wouldn't aren't always able to do the same. I feel she's learned a very valuable lesson from it and she's one of the lucky few that gets it, doesn't mean she cant still love him. The heart is complicated and all of us love someone or something we know we shouldn't.

RiRi a best friend doesn't pummel you so badly you need hospital care. I know it's painfull to forget him, but you must move on. You deserve better than what he is capable of giving you. Abuse never stops...stay away from him.
