The Young Money MC and the "Diamonds" singer will compete with each other in the Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock category, in which Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry are nominated too. RiRi also gets a nod for Artist of the Year. Her former flame Drake, in addition to Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, One Direction and Perry compete for the same award. Minaj will face-off against Drizzy and rapper Tyga for Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip-Hop.
Chris Brown gets a nod for Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B, a category he'll be competing for a win against Trey Songz and Usher.
The 2012 American Music Awards will air live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles Nov. 18 at 8PM EST on ABC.
