Instead, it looks like Kanye has been dragged into the whole thing. Apparently 'Ye had to sit for deposition at the insistence of the Humphries' camp -- which seems a little strange considering they haven't even asked for Kim's deposition yet.
The reality television star was married to NBA player Kris Humphries for only 72 days, but the divorce itself has now dragged on for over a year. Humphries' lawyer is claiming the marriage was a fraud put on for the sake of Kim's reality show, but her lawyer claims that the Kardashian is trapped in these proceedings.
"Miss Kardashian is now handcuffed to Mr. Humphries," Kardashian's attorney, Laura Wasser, told Judge Stephen Moloney in a hearing on Wednesday in Los Angeles. This is the first time the lawyers have been back in court to argue the case since May.
Kim is clearly eager to cut her ties with Kris so she can move on with Kanye, rumors of engagement have been swirling around the pair for a while now.
The prenup that Kardashian drew up before their marriage gives Humphries nothing, which might be a factor in his argument that the marriage should be annulled. The judge set a trial date for Feb. 15, so we'll have to wait till next year to see how this unfolds.
