Beyonce, PETA: 'King Bey' Sneakers Have Singer Under Fire

Beyonce has come under fire from PETA over her King Bey sneakers, which are made from crocodile and anaconda skins, stingray, ostrich and calf hair, and reportedly retail for $5,500.

While the singer hasn't been spotted yet in the King Bey sneakers, she's reportedly a big fan of French designer Isabel Marant, and has had Perfectly Made Kicks custom make them in the style of the popular sneaker wedge she's often seen wearing.

"These custom-made kicks come with a high price and it's paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed," PETA says in a statement. "Although most people aren't as familiar with the types of animals (snakes, stingrays, crocodiles, and ostriches) killed for this single pair of sneakers as they are with the cats and dogs we share our homes with, these animals are highly sensitive living beings who try hard to avoid capture and suffer enormously when trapped, netted, speared and skinned alive."

Perfectly Made Kicks isn't taking the criticism sitting down, though.

"No animals were beaten, harmed, or killed in the development and crafting of the "King Bey" sneaker," they fired back at PETA. "The exotic skins used to construct the "King Bey" sneaker were at the sole discretion of PMK and are not in association with any decisions, requests, or opinions of Beyonce and her affiliated parties. All leather and exotic skins used by PMK are from a legal supplier in New York."

Alot of U admit U haven't heard of her, Y???, she's been out there singing and performing for atleast 20+ years. She's a decent citizen out there making a living "Performing"., something she seams to do WELL. I've just recently started reading on line, the first time was after her performance at the inauguration. I can't belive the comments "HATERS", I can understan the young but alot of U all r Mothers, Grandparents and Greatgrandparents. My God is a forgiving GOD. I sure hope when ur day come U ask for forgiveness, because PEOPLE ur HEARTS are so FULL of HATE!!!!

I can't believe how jealous the world is of this beautiful talented young lady, wife and mother. The world is so full of hater especially if they are "black". If you want to be upset with smeone blame it on GOD!!! He made her, he gave her her talent and he most certaintly gave her her beauty. Looks, body and brain. These r the same people that dogged out Michael Jackson that drove him to his grave. Why do U JUDGE? Live and Let Live!!! She's out there making a ettliving doing what GOD Blessed her with. If U think you can do better than get out there and "DO IT".. Life is TOO short for all this unnecessay/ridiculous comments. There's been a series very rampant attacks on Beyonce lately by the press and I think it's ridiculous. Remember what happened to Whitney Houston as a result from the press attacking her? Shame on the press and the haters. It seems any time a black celebrity does better than most of your no talent white female artists the press goes out of their way to drag her down and I'm so freaking sick of this trend I want to vomit! Bringing Beyonce down is not going to make Taylor Swift or Britney Spears look or sound any better...they still kinda suck! Beyonce Knowles has more talent in her little toe than any of those chicks will ever display in their entire career so knock it off you lames. Beyonce is Bold..Black...Amazingly Gifted and here to stay...as for PITA....have a burger and STFU!~

"Series (of ) very rampant attacks" You can't be serious. If you're refering to the Presidential Inaugaration, she lip-synced, Clarkson didn't. Bey got called out. Get over it. What happened to Whitney was due to Drug Abuse and Bobby Brown. The media had nothing to do with her demise. She ruined her life all by herself. Apparently you don't remember the press going after Brit's parenting skills (or lack there-of) and her Bald-Headed Umbrella Incident... Or maybe you're too busy playing the Race Card to remember.
