50 Cent Lands on Death Row in 'Spectacular Regret'

Retired Rapper 50 Cent's versatile acting career continues, as Curtis prepares to appear in two upcoming murder-related feature films.

The first, Robert Deniro and Al Pacino's new vehicle 'Righteous Kill,' is directed by Jon Avnet (vaguely known for directing 'Fried Green Tomatoes' and producing gangster classics 'Poodle Springs' and 'The Mighty Ducks' trilogy). Though the title sounds like a Jean-Claude Van Damme masterpiece (i.e. 'Hard Target'), Fif's role appears to be about as long as Van Damme's part in 'Breakin',' if the trailer is any indication.

'Righteous Kill' hits theaters in September 2008, so practice your "G-G-G-G-Unit" ad libs for the quiet moments, if the group has any other remaining members by then.

Next, 50 is set to star as a death row inmate in 'Spectacular Regret,' which also features Danny Huston, John Ortiz and Kelli Garner and is helmed by Joshua Leonard, who starred in the 'Blair Witch Project,' in his feature directorial debut.

Other titles for the film may have included 'Astounding Disappointment,' 'Tremendous Mishap,' and 'Astonishing Failure,' but 'Spectacular Regret' apparently summed it up best.

Jay-Z to Ink $150M Deal With Live Nation

At this point, it should be pretty clear that Jay-Z is one of hip-hop's most talented artists, but his recent business dealings prove that the emcee-turned-entrepreneur understands this music industry better than most. In a time when records sales are on a constant decline while concert ticket prices continually increase, Jay-Z, who's known for selling out the world's largest arenas, is preparing to ink a deal with live events giant, Live Nation, according to the New York Times.

The rapper, who's spent the bulk of his career as an artist -- and eventually president -- at Def Jam Records, is abandoning his contract with the label for a $150 million package with Live Nation that includes financing for his own entertainment venture, in addition to recordings and tours for up to 10 years. The package will also include a five year, $25 million deal for the mogul's own Roc Nation imprint.

The site, which is scheduled to launch in April, will allow users to design unique profiles, upload their own music and collaborate with artists around the globe.
