According to Variety magazine, Jennifer Hudson has been tapped to portray Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, wife of former South African president Nelson Mandela, in the upcoming biopic 'Winnie.' The film -- based on the Anne Marie du Preez Bezdrob-penned biography 'Winnie Mandela: A Life' -- will be directed by South African filmmaker Darrell Roodt ('Cry,' 'Sarafina!' and 'The Beloved Country').

"I was compelled and moved when I read the script," Hudson said. "Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman and I'm honored to be the actress asked to portray her. This is a powerful part of history that should be told."

Hudson will begin working on 'Winnie' when shooting begins in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa in May 2010. As expected the film will also shoot scenes at Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela served 18 of his 27 years of imprisonment.
Released to the Internet this week Budden uses Rihanna's 'Russian Roullette' beat as the backdrop to his attempt at putting it all out on the table "What n----s don't know and what my friends don't see is while the world keeps spinning it's a lens on me," he rhymes.
Budden also clears up his beef status with one rapper after another while taking a few jabs at his ex-girlfriend Tahiry Jose. "Can you hear me, I'm tired of n----s asking about Tahiry/She can do what she want as long as she ain't do it near me/Everything ain't what it appear to be," he raps. "Leaking pictures of Fif [50 Cent] feeling on you're a--/But if you seen it like me, then you'd be feeling like an a--/So I'm thinkin' I'm a fool by watching you act a fool/Seeming desperate for attention, baby, take this as a jewel."

Atlanta police officials were called to the Grand Hustle offices when explosives were discovered outside the building.

A SWAT team was called to the scene to remove the two explosive devices, and ATF agents are interviewing witnesses in an attempt to identify a suspect. "One of the occupants came out early this morning to start his car up and noticed two suspicious bottles sitting on the front portion of the walkway," Officer Otis Redmond told MyFox Atlanta. The two bottles Officer Redmond referenced were reportedly Molotov Cocktails, also known as gas bombs.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, is currently serving a 366-day prison sentence for attempting to purchase an arsenal of weapons back in October 2007.

In an interview with DJ Funk Master Flex of New York radio station Hot 97, the hip-hop mogul stated that he believes that Shyne deserves to be let back into the U.S. and also cleared up reports of a rumored rift between the two.

"I've never had any problem with Shyne," he explained. "I've never had any problem with him, I was looking forward to him coming home and just getting out here and letting people see what I saw. I think it [his career] was cut down too early, people never got a chance to see what I saw.

"The thing that bugs me out is people forget what was going on at the time, y'all [Hot 97] was throwing so many stones at me telling me how Shyne sounded like Biggie. All the cats up here at this station was throwing stones at me and I was telling them, 'Nah, the kid got something special.' At the end of the day, when [someone goes] to jail, a lot of people jump on the bandwagon and it was beyond that to me.
"I honestly didn't think it was that bad," Sabi told MTV on the set of the Bangz's new video, 'Found My Swag,' in L.A. "Ella parties a lot, so I was thinking, 'Maybe she was out and about.' She caught a stray bullet. I didn't think it was gonna be as serious as it was."

The group had a song 'Boys With Tattoos (We Jerkin),' making noise at the time, which DJ Felli Fel had in heavy rotation on L.A.'s Power 106. Then, "the world stopped," Sabi said.

"When we got to the hospital, I remember walking through the emergency room," she continued. "I didn't know what to expect. When I saw the face of her stepfather and her mother, I knew it was something very serious. I immediately started crying. I said, 'Please tell me she's not ... ' I thought the worst happened. They thought the worst happened. [The doctors] said she was practically brain-dead basically. Then they found some brain activity and it was a little shine of light. It was a roller coaster situation. Then they got her somewhat stabilized, but she was in such a critical condition. It was a really awkward, stressful, shocking situation. The whole world just stopped."

The pair, along with openers 'Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!, known for their flamboyant stage costumes, and a solo Jemina Pearl, formally of neo-punk outfit Be Your Own Pet, had an amped crowd before them thanks to the evening's open bar at Miami Beach's Paris Theater.

Cudi, didn't seem to have a pre-made set list, except for the first and last song he performed. The Cleveland, Ohio-bred rapper mostly tapped into songs off his five-act, conceptual debut 'Man on the Moon: The End of Day,' The album's 'Heart of a Lion (Kid Cudi Theme Music)' kicked things off, with Cudi eventually paying slight homage to the album that made him a hip-hop namestay -- his 2008 breakthrough mixtape, 'A Kid Named Cudi.' The mixtape's underground-turned-radio favorite 'Day 'N' Nite' capped Cudi's performance.

Next up was former Epic Record A&R rep Santigold, whose back-up singers entered the stage and immediately began singing while the crowd chanted "Santi! Santi! Santi!." Santigold took to the stage and started the set with one of two Major Lazer covers, 'Hold the Line.' Other covers included her collabo with Jay-Z, 'Brooklyn Go Hard,' and Spank Rock's 'B.O.O.T.A.Y.' which closed the evening. But the crowd reaching for the singer as she sang with arms outstretched to them, went even more nuts, for her own gems, 'Creator' and 'L.E.S. Artists.'

The highly-anticipated record is said to focus on a surprising subject for Kelly -- sex.

Though it was initially rumored to be titled '12 Play, 4th Quarter,' much of that project leaked, so Kelly re-titled and re-recorded the album, adding songs like 'Bangin' The Headboard,' 'Pregnant,' 'Go Low,' and 'Be My #2.' 'Untitled' will feature singers Robin Thicke, Tyrese, The Dream and rapper OJ Da Juiceman, with production handled by Kelly, Jazze Pha, LOS Da Mystro and others.

The first single, "Number One," featuring Keri Hilson, was Kelly's 35th Top Ten hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The R&B singer is currently knee deep in his Ladies Make Some Noise! tour, which began Oct. 8, and continues through Dec. 8. Check out the track list for 'Untitled' after the jump. The album will be released on Dec. 1.

Molina has agreed to neither contact Hilton, nor set foot within 100 meters of the Cobra NightClub, where the assault took place. He has also been barred from carrying a weapon for 12 months and required to donate $500 to Toronto's Red Door Family Shelter.

"I apologize for what I did on June 22 of 2009," Molina said in a statement. "Even though you engaged in highly offensive comments, including a homophobic slur to my clients, I acknowledge that these kinds of issues should not be resolved through a physical response." Though Hilton's attorneys took issue with Molina's apology initially, they ultimately accepted it. "Although accepting the fact that he shouldn't resort to violence, he attempted to say that there was a precipitating cause," Hilton's lawyer responded. " A sincere apology is a sincere apology."

We were excited to hear straight from the horse's mouth that our favorite Wu-Tang Clan members were teaming up for a collaborative album. Back in August -- and then again in September -- Ghostface told The BoomBox about his upcoming project with Method Man and Raekwon during a podcast taping. We were skeptical, considering how difficult it sounds to get all three together for a project that Ghost said was due in December, but GFK assured us that they were already moving forward with the album.

Unfortunately, seems that our doubt was with merit. The highly-anticipated album is no longer set to drop next month. Instead, the album is slated to see the light of day in 2010. No explanation was given for the delay, but it looks like the release of Redman's new solo album has also been postponed.

The pop star said in an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts that she and her family got together to confront the late King of Pop about his drug use but to no avail. "Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can't just let them continue on like that," she said. "And we did [attempt interventions] a few times. We weren't very successful. He understood that it was out of love, out of caring. But when it's something like that people can tend to be in denial," she said.

Despite their attempts Michael continued his use of painkillers and the powerful sedative Propofal, which is believed to have killed him, as he was injected with the drug in the hours leading up to his death. Michael who was being treated by his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, suffered a cardiac arrest on June 25 and could not be revived by the time paramedics arrived at his Los Angeles home. Once transported to a nearby hospital, the King of Pop was pronounced dead later that afternoon. Ironically, he was just a few weeks shy of his comeback 'This Is It' concerts. The run was to debut July 13 in London. Footage from the rehearsals have since been turned into a movie of the same name which hit theaters in October and has become the top grossing musical documentary with more than $200 million in sales worldwide.

It's just all business."

Dash doesn't mince words when it comes to his opinions on the Roc-A-Fella crew but also highlights his own carelessness when it came to running the company "I was like everybody's manager. In rock 'n' roll you don't sign an artist until they can fill up a venue and sale their own CDs and hit the chitterling circuit -- then they get signed. But with Roc-A-Fella I would sign people put them on the private jet and they'd be performing in front of [Madison Square] Garden. I guess you think that's normal, but it just wasn't."

Legacy The Jesus -- a former member of Ma$e's S.A.N.E. (Saving A Nation Endangered International) parish and owner of one of the strangest rap names conceivable -- is speaking out against the former Bad Boy with a vengeance. Now, one wouldn't be remiss to question any member of a church that would actually accept Ma$e as a pastor, but let's hear him out.

"It became a hustle for Ma$e after awhile, dog," said Legacy to Hip-Hop Wired. "Where he gauging who he would talk to based around how much they were giving. That's a problem for me... Ma$e, he owe the church an apology... He can't do music and the church because he start messing up when he does both."

Legacy continues on to call Ma$e a "false prophet" - a significantly harsher critique than any rapper has dealt. Apparently, instead of following through on promises to the church, Ma$e groveled to his original fan base and lacked the strength to carry out his original mission from God.

"You can't tell me 'Hey man, be faithful to your wife and I'm your pastor,' but I see you in the strip club with five hos on your lap and you're high," said Legacy The Jesus. "That's a false prophet. You're not living by what you're saying and people can take that out of context and that is what it is. I don't expect Ma$e to be perfect, but I definitely expect him to live by what he's saying. You can't go out there doing that bro because people get deceived."

The entire interview is pretty crazy. Head over to Hip-Hop Wired and check it out.
