A Peek at Madonna's 'Hard Candy' Sounds Sweet With Help From Timbaland, Timberlake

Pop diva Madonna gets some help from hip-hop super-producers Timbaland and the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams on her upcoming album, 'Hard Candy,' due April 29.

The singer's follow-up to 2005's disco smash 'Confessions on a Dancefloor' brings her back to the clubs, but this time with a hip-hop/R&B vibe. The expected first single, 'Four Minutes,' features vocals from Justin Timberlake, who will induct Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10. Madge once again delves into rapping (see the awkward "latte" and "Pilates" rhymes on 'American Life'), but this time out the singer rhymes about "reinvention" over a tough, bass-heavy track, courtesy of Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills.

Pharrell adds some flavor to the diva's new project on the track 'Give It to Me,' which features a signature Neptunes spacecraft breakdown mid-track. The singer mellows out on the acoustic-tinged ballad 'Miles Away.' As the title suggests, the pop star sings about long-distance love and cries, "When I'm gone, you realize I'm the best thing that's happened to you."

While there are no official tour plans, fans can expect the superstar to unveil new material at intimate venues in Paris, London and New York.

Jermaine Dupri Defends Britney, Old School R&B and His Fans

Jermaine Dupri calls his new autobiography, 'Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul.' It may be an apt title, at least for today's very tame and media-controlled music industry, because one thing that's clear when talking with Dupri is he doesn't hold back his opinion. From his long history of collaborations with the likes of Jay-Z, Usher and Mariah Carey, to his views on what's lacking with today's stars, why Britney isn't crazy and his supposed beef with Justin Timberlake (there isn't one), Dupri is full of insight and opinions.

Are you a big reader in general?

I'm so much part of the Generation X-box, right, and I believe I understand why this generation doesn't really read as much as they do, and I understand what they read. They read car magazines, Vibe, The Source, a lot of online stuff that's going on with the people they like. They don't really read what the older generation wants them to read; they read what they want to read.

Do you find you're getting people who don't normally read interested in this book?

I think the exciting part for me is that I'm going to show an older person that don't really understand what's going on in today's world what you have to write in order for these kids to read, basically. When I talked to the publisher, I told her that was one of the important things about me doing my book, 'cause they wanted me to change the title. They thought 'Young, Rich, And Dangerous' was too long. [But] not only is this the X-box generation, it's the bling-ling generation, too, which they have to see titles to excite them to pick the book up. It can't just be "Jermaine Dupri, the music mogul, blah, blah." That sounds too corporate for them.

Gym Class Heroes Pull Phallic Prank at Festival

Not many bands can get away with bringing a penis out on stage without fear of arrest, but for Gym Class Heroes, their extra member at Britain's Leeds festival last Friday simply made things a bit saucier. During their half-hour festival opener, frontman Travis "Schleprok" McCoy, introduced a plaster-cast of the appendage, claiming it was actually mold in his own image, before handing it off to an, um, lucky festival-goer. With an insider swearing it was actually from a local radio station, Popeater, sought to find out the truth backstage.

"I have no idea where that came from," guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo and bassist Eric Roberts both exclaimed emphatically. And no, they said, the band won't be re-working said statue into their routine in the future, especially when they hit next month's MTV VMAs.
