After what seemed like a quickie, impulse wedding in the Bahamas, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are sharing the details of their private nuptials. "We really do feel we are soulmates," Carey tells PEOPLE. "I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me." The couple discuss their brief courtship and April 30 ceremony in the magazine's new issue.

According to reports, R&B diva Mariah Carey and actor/sometimes rapper Nick Cannon have secretly wed in the Bahamas, just one day after rumors surfaced that the pair were engaged.

"They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks. And she's always had a crush on him" a source told the New York Post.

If the rumor is true, this is the second marriage for the 38-year-old diva, whowas married to music mogul Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998. Cannon was engaged to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, but the couple called off the engagement in October 2007.

According to media reports, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are engaged. The 38-year-old singer has been spotted rocking a huge rock on her ring finger, which was allegedly a gift from the 27-year-old actor/rapper. A source close to Carey claims the "gift" is more than a friendship ring, and is in fact an engagement ring. The diva was married to music mogul Tommy Mottola from 1993 to 1998. There's a chance Mariah Carey will be looking for a new backup singer soon. While performing her No. 1 hit 'Touch My Body' on Good Morning America, the R&B diva turned around and scolded a backup singer, singing "Stop singing my part ... now baby ..." Carey's response to the backup singer's flub was the least of her problems.



As Mimi stood at the top of the steps of the elaborate stage in the center of Times Square in New York the back-up track of the song started a little bit too early. In true diva fashion, Mimi managed to shake off the backing track slipup while improvising in her skintight, hot pink dress. "A little creative. I try to bring something new to the moment every time," Carey said after the performance.

Mariah Carey sits on the list of artists that don't have to work too hard to impress. While the R&B diva's latest release, E=MC2, is not an album based on the mass-energy equivalence, it does follow a formula that seems to work for the singer. Carey, commonly labeled as one of the world's best vocalist, hits all the right notes, teams up with Jermaine Dupri, who supplies her with simple, but pefect hip-hop, bassy beats, and there you have it: a sure-fire hit album.

The singer gets even more formulaic and kicks off the album with a collaboration with T-Pain, who's been on almost every radio hit released in the past two years, and a signature high note. But Carey knows her fans, and her fans love her sexy cooing, dramatic ballads and catchy, sing-alongs -- a la 'Touch My Body' -- so in the end E=MC2 equals classic Mariah Carey.

Rick Ross and The-Dream have added a ton of flavor to Mariah Carey's first single, 'Touch My Body,' off her upcoming album 'E=MC2,' due in stores on April 15.

The official remix features Miami's big 'Boss' and the 'Umbrella' songwriter over a bass-bumping beat, adding some street cred to Carey's sexy single, which is climbing its way up the charts.

Mariah Carey fans are set to get a physics lesson from one of the best vocalist of our time when the pop/R&B sensation drops her anticipated 11th studio album dubbed 'E=MC²,' on April 15.

The follow-up to her Grammy-winning comeback album, 'The Emancipation of Mimi,' will feature production from longtime collaborator and friend Jermaine Dupri, Will.I.Am, C. "Tricky" Stewart, Bryan Michael Cox and The-Dream.

The first single, 'Touch My Body,' written and produced by Carey, Stewart and The-Dream, hits radio outlets today.

Jermaine Dupri calls his new autobiography, 'Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul.' It may be an apt title, at least for today's very tame and media-controlled music industry, because one thing that's clear when talking with Dupri is he doesn't hold back his opinion. From his long history of collaborations with the likes of Jay-Z, Usher and Mariah Carey, to his views on what's lacking with today's stars, why Britney isn't crazy and his supposed beef with Justin Timberlake (there isn't one), Dupri is full of insight and opinions.

Are you a big reader in general?

I'm so much part of the Generation X-box, right, and I believe I understand why this generation doesn't really read as much as they do, and I understand what they read. They read car magazines, Vibe, The Source, a lot of online stuff that's going on with the people they like. They don't really read what the older generation wants them to read; they read what they want to read.

Do you find you're getting people who don't normally read interested in this book?

I think the exciting part for me is that I'm going to show an older person that don't really understand what's going on in today's world what you have to write in order for these kids to read, basically. When I talked to the publisher, I told her that was one of the important things about me doing my book, 'cause they wanted me to change the title. They thought 'Young, Rich, And Dangerous' was too long. [But] not only is this the X-box generation, it's the bling-ling generation, too, which they have to see titles to excite them to pick the book up. It can't just be "Jermaine Dupri, the music mogul, blah, blah." That sounds too corporate for them.

The stars were out in full effect at Diddy's annual White Party this Labor Day weekend in the Hamptons. Previously held in St. Tropez, the party historically attracts some of the hottest names in music and fashion each year. This year, everyone from Mariah Carey and Busta Rhymes, to Ashley Olsen and Donna Karen attended the event, which features a stricter dress code than an all-female Catholic school. (Read: White attire only. Not even the slightest cream is allowed.)
