Big Boi Inks Deal With Coke

OutKast's Big Boi has signed on to be the face of Coca-Cola's Full Throttle Fury Energy drink. The beverage company is set to re-launch the drink with a new add and marketing campaign that will feature the Atlanta rapper.

The company's goal is to target the African-American male demographic. "Full Throttle Fury appeals to men like me who consider themselves real and authentic, whose work style is to go all the way," Big Boi said in a statement. "I spend most of my days in the recording studio or involved in new projects. Full Throttle Fury has a great taste and provides me the energy to get through my busy day."

Full Throttle will also be the official sponsor of Big Boi's promotional tours and record release parties for his upcoming solo album 'Sir Luscious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty.'

"My new album 'Sir Luscious Left Foot' embodies the energy of Full Throttle Fury, where I feel like the body of work I've created on this CD will hopefully motivate my fans even more with its high energy and conscious lyrics as I've always created in my music." Full Throttle is available in stores nationwide and 'Sir Luscious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty' will hit stores in October 28.

'ATLiens,' by OutKast
Make no mistake, Outkast's follow-up to 'Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik' was different. As Big Rube felt compelled to dispel the myth that 'Southern...' championed pimpin' hoes and slamming Cadillac doors, 'ATLiens' left little doubt the Atlanta duo was much deeper than their debut seemed to let on. 'Liens isn't known for individual tracks but as a must-have for hazy dorm-room sessions, late-night haunts in tinted Caddys and all smoky stops in between.

OutKast to Release New Album in 2009

After years of rumors claiming that the duo's solo projects were proof that OutKast was a done deal, Big Boi and Andre 3000 have confirmed that they'll be releasing an album together in 2009.

"We got a few songs we already picked out," Big Boi told MTV. "We pick the beats first. I drop my [solo album] in July, Dre puts his out [later this year], and we drop that Outkast record at the top of [next] year."

OutKast's Andre 3000 Launching a Clothing Line

If you've ever wondered, "Where can I get a pair of tailored lime green riding pants?" Look no further. Andre Benjamin, AKA Andre 3000 -- the quirky half of hip-hop duo OutKast -- is launching a clothing line called Benjamin Bixby.

The line, which the multi-faceted rapper-turned-actor is extremely close to, is set to hit Barneys this fall. The rapper picked out the fabrics and sketched the designs for the 70 piece Bixby line, so fans will have an opportunity to own a piece of Benjamin's unconventional style. Bixby will feature some of Benjamin's style, which he describes as "classic spontaneity" and "rebel gentlemen."

"[Bixby] is a character who's kind of like your uncle, or your granddad, and he has a closet full of experiences and clothes, and he's been around the world," Benjamin told New York magazine. The rapper also promises to release a solo album sometime this year.

Andre 3000 Goes to the Head of the 'Class'

Andre 3000 is officially kid-tested and mom-approved -- well, for the most part. The Outkast member brought his animated children's series 'Class of 3000' to the Cartoon Network last year, and this week, Andre released the show's soundtrack, 'Class of 3000: Music Volume One.'

The album features fourteen songs -- each written and produced by Andre -- that incorporate the rapper's eclectic flavor of gospel, jazz, R&B, soul, funk and reggae. Among the new tunes are 'Oh Peanut,' 'Banana Zoo,' 'Fight the Blob' and 'The Crayon Song.'

In addition to executive producing the show, Andre also lends his voice to the character Sunny Bridges, a musician who gave up his career to teach gifted musical students. The second season of the popular series premiered last month.
