RZA Talks About Alter Ego Bobby Digital, Freestyles in Our Studio

"My style is unpredictable whether it's freestyle or written," RZA tells the BoomBox during an exclusive 16 Bars freestyle segment. "I don't know if I'm out the box, or in the box, or if there's a box at all, but I know that I have energy in me," RZA, the de-facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, explained. "[It's] uncontrollable, un-containable, unexplainable, and it's always being expressed."

In a continued effort to express himself, the rapper-turned-actor transformed himself back into Bobby Digital and released 'Digi Snacks' on June 24. "This is the third album as that character. It's a character I developed years ago to help me find a way to express parts of myself without being blamed for it ... as the character Bobby Digital, I found the outlet to put [out] different ideas, to take my science fiction, my black exploitation, my martial arts, my sexualism and all that, and drugs and problems in my life, and stuff them into this character and let them live it out." Buy 'Digi Snacks' on iTunes.

RZA Forms Hip Hop/Rock Side Project Achozen

The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA is teaming up with politically-driven System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, Wu-Tang affiliate Kinetic 9, formerly known as Beretta 9 and Reverend William Burke to form the group Achozen.

"Shavo is my neighbor and we used to hang out in the studio. We realized it was unique that even though we had different backgrounds, we had so much in common with our family, our commitment, our thoughts and the suffering of our people," RZA explains in a recent interview. "So, we teamed up years ago and have been working on the project for two years. It's unlike anything else I've ever done."

The group just wrapped their first collaborative effort, which features guest appearances by the GZA, George Clinton, Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante and Killah Priest. The foursome's self-titled debut album will hit stores this summer.

RZA Launches Online Chess Social Network

The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA has partnered with ChessPark, an online chess social network, and the Hip Hop Chess Federation to launch a social network for hip hop chess heads.

The website, WuChess.com, will allow players to interact via instant messages and live chat, as well as battle each one another in a Shaolin Style ancient war game. Read the full story.

RZA Lands Role in 'Repossession Mambo'

The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA will add to his resume with a role in the upcoming film 'Repossession Mambo,' hitting theaters next year. The rapper-turned-actor will star alongside Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker, Jude Law and Liev Schreiber in the science-fiction flick about a repo man, played by Law, whose body has been constructed almost entirely of artificial organs.

"It's going to be a big movie," RZA told MTV. "I play a music producer who is strung out on drugs, and I can't afford to pay my bills. They've got to repossess my heart."

Raekwon, Ghostface Talk Wu-Tang Clan Beefs

Raekwon aired out recent Wu-Tang Clan beefs with Hot 97 radio personality Miss Info. In the interview, Raekwon claimed Rza is steering the Wu in a direction they aren't comfortable with.

"Rza is trying to create too much of a orchestra ... He's trying to do too much of this guitar s---, like he got a guitar on his f---ing back," Raekwon told Miss Info. "And our whole s--- is that we don't want that and the fans don't know us for that."

Fellow Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah expressed his own frustrations, which seemed to be more financial than creative, three weeks ago. "It's not based on the members, but the hierarchy at Wu-Tang Clan is on some bulls---. They trying to f--- around and make me push my album back," Ghostface told MTV. "But n----- ain't give us money when we did them Wu-Tang tours."

Recent rifts aside, the Wu will release 'The 8 Diagrams' on December 11. Ghostface's new album, 'The Big Doe Rehab,' drops December 4.
